Computer-Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery
Our surgeons perform computer-assisted knee replacement surgery. This technology is proven to improve the consistency and accuracy of alignment of the prosthetic joint components, a key factor in determining the short-term and long-term success of the procedure. Our orthopedic surgeons were the first in the Carolinas to exclusively adopt this computer "navigation" technology. Much like the GPS navigation systems available in your car, the system allows more exact bone shaping than was possible with prior techniques. Our surgeons' experience has led to presentations at national and international meetings, and to their role as instructors at surgical workshops. This technique is, of course, integrated with the latest advances in prosthetic design, pain management, surgical and anesthesthetic approaches to optimize results for our patients.
What does this mean for our patients? Greater, longer-lasting results from their knee replacement surgeries.
